A certain amount of stress is good for you – but that stress has to be
manageable and you have to be able to take a break from it. If it is unrelenting it becomes
unmanageable and turns into anxiety.
Stress and anxiety often have the same cause but although stress often
causes anxiety, anxiety can also exist without external stress! Anxiety, therefore, can arise from outside
pressure (stress) or internal pressure (personality conflicts and unresolved
issues).
Everyone suffers from stress from time to time and clients who suffer
enough to need help usually have a combination of internal and external
pressures. External pressure often highlights the unresolved issues that they probably hadn’t noticed, or had been
able to control, when life was easy. However, a relative dying, trouble at work, family difficulties etc, etc
can suddenly make conflicts that had previously been manageable spiral out of
control causing loss of sleep, inability to relax, feelings of dread and all
the other unpleasant symptoms that anxiety brings.
In extreme cases this can lead to panic attacks, which are incredibly
frightening for the sufferer who feels he or she is about to die.
At St. Helens Hypnotherapy Clinic you will be treated with a combination of counselling and
hypnotherapy. Your subconscious knows where your internal problems are coming from and under hypnosis you will very
quickly discover these. As soon as you begin to understand your tangle of emotions
you will very quickly be able to make them manageable so that you can cope with
life again.
